The Michigan Supreme Court issued an order on May 27, 2008, regarding the appeals in the case of Debra Jackson, as Successor Personal Representative of the Estate of Shirley Jackson, against several defendants including Henry Ford Health System, Michael S. Eichenhorn, M.D., Vencor Hospital (Kindred Hospitals East, LLC), Michigan Hospitalists, P.C., Masood Ahmad, M.D., and Harpel S. Jande, M.D. The court had previously held applications for leave to appeal the Court of Appeals' judgment from January 17, 2006, in abeyance while awaiting a decision in the related case of Braverman v Garden City Hospital. Following the decision in that case on April 9, 2008, the Court considered the applications and ultimately denied them, stating that the questions presented did not warrant review by the Supreme Court.
