Citation: Not availableDocket: D-73 September Term 2018; 082327
Court: Supreme Court of New Jersey; March 27, 2019; New Jersey; State Supreme Court
Christopher D. Boyman, previously admitted to the bar in 1987 and suspended since February 6, 2012, has been disbarred following recommendations from the Disciplinary Review Board in case DRB 18-255. He was found to have violated RPC 5.5(a)(1) by practicing law while suspended, and RPC 8.1(b) by failing to cooperate with disciplinary authorities. Boyman did not respond to the court's order to show cause for why he should not be disbarred or disciplined. The court ordered his immediate disbarment, striking his name from the roll of attorneys, and permanently restraining him from practicing law. Furthermore, all funds in any New Jersey financial institutions held by Boyman are to be restrained from disbursement unless applied for and approved by the court, with a directive for any such funds to be transferred to the Clerk of the Superior Court for deposit in the Superior Court Trust Fund until further order. Boyman must also comply with Rule 1:20-20 regarding disbarred attorneys. The entire record of the case will become part of his permanent attorney file, and he is required to reimburse the Disciplinary Oversight Committee for administrative costs related to this matter, as per Rule 1:20-17.
