The trial court awarded attorney’s fees to two law firms representing plaintiffs in a class action, amounting to 25% of a $9,200,000 settlement, under a contingency fee arrangement. Evidence indicated that Hilary Langen worked as an associate for the Bailey Hunt law firm, contributing to research and drafting, as stipulated in the fee-sharing agreement which mandated a 50%-50% split of contingency fees between the firms. The court found no error in enforcing this agreement despite extensive arguments from Bailey Hunt. Additionally, any potential error regarding the admission of Mr. Scott’s expert opinion was deemed harmless. The non-final order being appealed was affirmed in all respects.
