A lease description of equipment that solely serves identification purposes does not imply or express a warranty of satisfactory performance. In Transmerica Leasing Corp. v. Van’s Realty Co., the court found that when the equipment was defective and the lease stated the lessor's obligation was limited to delivering the equipment "AS IS," any claims for defects were to be directed against the manufacturer or supplier, as identified in the lease. Consequently, the lessee could not pursue claims against the lease financier. Other arguments presented were deemed without merit. The court affirmed the lower court's decision.
