Prince A. Brumfield, Jr., a member of the Georgia State Bar since 1981, has submitted a petition for the voluntary surrender of his law license under Bar Rule 4-227 (b). Brumfield acknowledges that he filed a quit claim deed in the superior court's clerk office that falsely purported to include the signature of another individual, whom he knew had not signed the deed. This action constituted a violation of Rule 8.4 (a. 4) of the Georgia Rules of Professional Conduct, which carries a maximum sanction of disbarment. The State Bar has recommended acceptance of his petition. The Court has reviewed the record and agreed to accept the voluntary surrender, equating it to disbarment. Consequently, Brumfield’s name is removed from the rolls of individuals authorized to practice law in Georgia. He is reminded of his obligations under Bar Rule 4-219 (c). All Justices concur with this decision.
