John Rex Powell, an attorney admitted to the New Jersey bar in 2007, has consented to disbarment. The disbarment is effective immediately, with his name removed from the roll of attorneys, and he is permanently prohibited from practicing law. Funds held in any New Jersey financial institution by Powell are to be restrained from disbursement unless a Court application shows good cause; these funds will be transferred to the Clerk of the Superior Court for deposit in the Superior Court Trust Fund pending further orders. Powell must comply with Rule 1:20-20, which pertains to disbarred attorneys. The entire record of this matter will be permanently included in his attorney file. Additionally, Powell is ordered to reimburse the Disciplinary Oversight Committee for administrative costs and expenses related to this case, as stipulated in Rule 1:20-17.
