BARRY W. HOROWITZ, an attorney from East Brunswick who has been suspended since July 23, 2004, has been ordered to serve an additional one-year suspension from the practice of law due to multiple violations of the Rules of Professional Conduct (RPC). The violations include gross neglect (RPC 1.1(a)), lack of diligence (RPC 1.3), failure to communicate with clients (RPC 1.4), practicing law while ineligible (RPC 5.5(a)), failure to cooperate with disciplinary authorities (RPC 8.1), and misrepresentation (RPC 8.4(c)).

The suspension is effective immediately, and Horowitz must comply with Rule 1:20-20 regarding suspended attorneys. Non-compliance with the Affidavit of Compliance requirement may result in a delay of up to six months for any petition for reinstatement, potential violations of RPC 8.1(b) and RPC 8.4(c), and grounds for contempt under Rule 1:10-2. The complete record of this disciplinary matter will be permanently included in Horowitz's attorney file, and he is required to reimburse the Disciplinary Oversight Committee for administrative costs and expenses related to the prosecution of this case, as stipulated in Rule 1:20-17.
