Jerald A. Schragen of Ramsey, admitted to the bar in 1970, has been disbarred following a recommendation from the Disciplinary Review Board. This action stems from multiple violations of the Rules of Professional Conduct (RPC), including engaging in prohibited business transactions with a client (RPC 1.8(a)), acting as an intermediary between clients (RPC 2.2(a)), making false statements to a tribunal and failing to disclose material facts (RPC 3.3(a)(1) and (5)), failing to cooperate with disciplinary authorities (RPC 8.1(b)), and conduct involving dishonesty and deceit (RPC 8.4(c)). Schragen did not appear on the return date of the Order to Show Cause regarding the disbarment. Consequently, he is disbarred effective immediately, his name will be removed from the roll of attorneys, and a permanent record of the matter will be maintained. Additionally, he is permanently restrained from practicing law and is ordered to reimburse the Disciplinary Oversight Committee for administrative costs related to the case.
