Steven P. Haft, admitted to the bar in 1974, is suspended from practicing law for one year due to violations of several Rules of Professional Conduct (RPC), specifically RPC 1.7(b) regarding conflicts of interest, RPC 1.8(a) concerning business transactions with clients, and RPC 8.4(c) related to dishonesty and misrepresentation. The suspension is effective from November 18, 1996, until further Court order. Haft must complete ten hours of professional responsibility courses from the Institute of Continuing Legal Education (ICLE) before reinstatement. The case record will be permanently added to his attorney file, and he is prohibited from practicing law during the suspension period. Haft is also ordered to reimburse the Disciplinary Oversight Committee for administrative costs related to the proceedings.
