Philip Edward Van Riper is suspended from practicing law in Pennsylvania for one year and one day, effective retroactively from February 16, 2002. This suspension follows a one-year suspension imposed by the New York Supreme Court on January 2, 2002. Van Riper was required to inform the Pennsylvania Court of any claims against the discipline imposed under Pennsylvania Rule 216(a) and (c)(4) but did not provide sufficient justification to prevent the imposition of discipline. He must also comply with all provisions of Pennsylvania Rule 217.
