In re Committee on Bar Admissions CFN-816680
Docket: No. 2015-BA-0983
Court: Supreme Court of Louisiana; June 19, 2015; Louisiana; State Supreme Court
Petitioner, having passed the Louisiana Bar Examination, was denied certification for admission to the bar by the Committee on Bar Admissions due to concerns regarding her character and fitness. The Committee cited several criminal charges against her, including forgery, criminal use of personal identification information, fraud related to a driver’s license application, passing worthless checks (in two cases), grand theft (three counts in two cases), and a violation of probation. Additionally, it was noted that the petitioner did not fully disclose her criminal history on her law school application. Upon reviewing the evidence and applicable law, the court determined that the petitioner failed to demonstrate "good moral character" as required for admission to the Louisiana State Bar Association. Consequently, the petitioner's application for admission was denied.
