On January 14, 2020, the Michigan Supreme Court issued an order concerning two cases involving plaintiffs Melissa Mays, Michael Adam Mays, Jacqueline Pemberton, Keith John Pemberton, Elenora Carthan, Rhonda Kelso, and others similarly situated against the Governor of Michigan, the State of Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, and the Department of Health and Human Services. The cases are identified as SC: 157335-7 and SC: 157340-2, both originating from the Court of Claims (16-000017-MM) and consolidated under COA: 335555, 335725, 335726.
