Joshua Terrell v. State
Citation: Not availableDocket: 10-18-00210-CR
Court: Court of Appeals of Texas; December 4, 2018; Texas; State Appellate Court
Original Court Document: View Document
Joshua Terrell pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual assault of a child, leading to a deferred adjudication and a 10-year community supervision sentence along with a $5,000 fine. On February 22, 2018, the State filed a Motion to Adjudicate Guilt and Revoke Community Supervision. Terrell admitted to three allegations in this motion. The trial court found these allegations true, convicted him of aggravated assault of a child, and sentenced him to 15 years of confinement. Terrell's appointed counsel submitted an Anders brief, declaring the appeal to be frivolous after a thorough review of the appellate record. Counsel informed Terrell of his right to file a brief, but Terrell did not respond. Following a comprehensive examination of the case, the court concluded that the appeal was wholly frivolous, affirming the trial court’s judgment. The request for counsel to withdraw from Terrell's representation was granted, with a requirement for counsel to provide Terrell with a copy of the decision and inform him of his right to file a pro se petition for discretionary review. The opinion was delivered on December 5, 2018, and is not intended for publication.
