The Tenth Court of Appeals addressed the appeal regarding the children K.W., D.W., and K.W. from the 77th District Court in Limestone County, Texas. The reporter’s record was initially due on October 31, 2016, but obtaining it proved difficult. On December 21, 2016, the appeal was abated to allow the trial court to establish a timeline for filing the reporter’s record. A purported complete record was received on December 29, 2016, but it was found to be incomplete, particularly with Volumes 4 and 5 missing testimony. The appeal was abated again on February 1, 2017, for further clarification on the completion of the records. A supplemental record was filed on February 8, 2017, but it still contained numerous issues. A subsequent filing on February 16, 2017, corrected Volume 5 was deemed acceptable; however, Volume 4 remained deficient, lacking proper punctuation, a complete index, and coherent responses. The court ordered reporter Jonette C. Jackson to file a corrected Volume 4 within 14 days, warning that failure to do so would result in another abatement for a contempt hearing. The order was issued on March 15, 2017.
