On March 17, 2017, the Michigan Supreme Court, led by Chief Justice Stephen J. Markman, denied the application for leave to appeal the judgment of the Court of Appeals dated February 19, 2015, concerning the case of Phillip Joseph Swift (a/k/a Phillip Joseph Swift, Jr.). The Court heard oral arguments on March 8, 2017, but concluded that the questions raised did not merit review. The Clerk of the Michigan Supreme Court, Larry S.
