On September 8, 2015, the Court of Appeals for the First District of Texas requested the trial clerk to submit the indigent clerk’s record for the case William Harris v. Anika Bell-Gray, including specific documents related to the appellant's affidavit of indigence. The trial clerk submitted the indigent clerk’s record on September 21, 2015, which included the appellee's contest filed on September 17, 2015. However, the submission lacked a signed order from the trial court extending the time for a hearing or ruling on the contest, as required by Texas Rule of Appellate Procedure 20.1(g)(1). The trial court clerk is instructed to prepare and file a supplemental clerk’s record that includes any notice of hearing, a signed order extending the hearing time or ruling on the contest, final judgment, post-judgment motions, and other relevant documents concerning the appellant's indigence status. If no hearing or order was issued within 10 days post-contest filing, the trial clerk must notify the Court. The deadline for submitting the supplemental clerk’s record is set for December 4, 2015.
