Jeremiah Fields v. State
Citation: Not availableDocket: 13-14-00062-CR
Court: Court of Appeals of Texas; February 3, 2014; Texas; State Appellate Court
Original Court Document: View Document
Jeremiah Fields, the appellant, filed a notice of appeal regarding his conviction in trial court cause number S-13-3297-CR. The trial court’s certification indicates that Fields does not have the right to appeal, per Texas Rules of Appellate Procedure (TEX. R. APP. P. 25.2(a)(2)). Consequently, the appeal must be dismissed if the certification demonstrating a right to appeal is not included in the record (TEX. R. APP. P. 25.2(d)). Appellant's counsel, L. Chris Iles, is ordered to review the record within thirty days of receiving this notice and determine if Fields has a right to appeal. Counsel must provide findings in a letter to the Court and, if a right to appeal is found, file a motion within the same timeframe detailing the reasons for this right, supported by analysis of relevant case law. Any factual claims in the motion must be true and substantiated by the record, and necessary documents must be attached for evaluation (TEX. R. APP. P. 10.1, 10.2). The order is issued per curiam and is not for publication. The document is filed on February 4, 2014.
