On February 13, 2014, the Court of Appeals for the Fifth District of Texas denied Charles Richard Vandiver's motion to abate his appeal. The court acknowledged receipt of Vandiver's pro se responses to the Anders brief submitted by his counsel and confirmed that the appeal would proceed as scheduled. Additionally, the court noted the receipt of a supplemental reporter’s record from a bond reduction hearing held on November 28, 2012. The court reminded Vandiver's counsel of the obligation to provide him with copies of the record. It ordered the Clerk to transmit copies of the order electronically to Valencia Bush and Michael Casillas, and to send a physical copy to Charles Vandiver by first-class mail. The order was signed by Justice David Evans.
