On October 18, 2011, the Fourteenth Court of Appeals delivered a judgment reversing a prior decision made on February 3, 2011, which had ruled in favor of the Galveston Municipal Police Association, Jimmy De Los Santos, and Robert Sanderson. Upon reviewing the case, the court identified errors in the initial judgment and dismissed all claims against the City of Galveston. The court ordered the appellees to collectively bear the costs incurred during the appeal process and mandated that this ruling be certified for observance in the lower court.
