Michael Anthony Castello v. State
Citation: Not availableDocket: 03-07-00277-CR
Court: Court of Appeals of Texas; February 20, 2008; Texas; State Appellate Court
Original Court Document: View Document
Michael Anthony Castello was found guilty of murder by a jury, which sentenced him to sixty years in prison. His court-appointed attorney submitted an Anders brief, determining the appeal to be frivolous and without merit, supported by a professional evaluation of the record. Castello was provided with this brief and informed of his right to review the appellate record and submit a pro se brief, but he did not file one. After reviewing the record and the attorney's brief, the court concurred with the assessment that the appeal lacks any arguable grounds. Consequently, the judgment of conviction was affirmed. The ruling was filed on February 21, 2008, by Justice G. Alan Waldrop, with Chief Justice Law and Justice Pemberton also participating.
