Andre Marquis Thomas v. State
Citation: Not availableDocket: 03-07-00095-CR
Court: Court of Appeals of Texas; June 29, 2007; Texas; State Appellate Court
Original Court Document: View Document
Andre Marquis Thomas pleaded guilty to possession of more than four grams of cocaine with intent to deliver, as per Texas Health and Safety Code § 481.112(a). The district court sentenced him to twenty-three years' imprisonment. His court-appointed attorney submitted a brief declaring the appeal to be frivolous, fulfilling the requirements of Anders v. California by providing a professional assessment of the record that found no arguable grounds for appeal. Thomas was given a copy of this brief, informed of his right to review the appellate record and file a pro se brief, but did not submit one. After reviewing both the record and the attorney's brief, the court concurred that the appeal lacked merit and found no grounds to support it. The attorney's motion to withdraw was approved, and the judgment of conviction was affirmed.
