On October 7, 2004, the Court of Appeals notified Farhia Gohe that her appellate brief was deficient according to specific rules of the Texas Rules of Appellate Procedure. She was given a deadline of October 22, 2004, to submit a compliant amended brief, with a warning that failure to do so could lead to dismissal of her appeal. Gohe subsequently filed two motions requesting extensions, which were granted, pushing the deadline to January 3, 2005. As of that date, no amended brief had been filed, leading the court to dismiss the appeal for want of prosecution.
